Weekly Dispatches 13 Jan 17

Hi all,

Week 2 of 2017 and the holidays for everyone are coming close to the end.... I am sure I am not alone when I say I could do with another few weeks of quieter summer time pace.

I had a great time up in Coffs Harbour this week with the lovely ladies up there who sew with Sandy!  What a terrific bunch. We go to so much done and had a lot of laughs.   Finished the day with a BBQ dinner at Judy's which was lovely!

Now back to reality with a sewing day here in Sydney at my home today with some of the local ladies and Rachael who is a beginner quilter and also a recipient. Rachael served on HMAS Darwin in 2014.  Last  year she started learning to quilt attending a class which her colleagues from HMAS Waterhen paid for as her going away present when she posted out.  How cool is that?  Even cooler is the fact that she is building up the confidence to start quilting with us soon.

So far for 2017 we have sent off 140 laundry bags

which brings us to a total of 13262 since we started...

and...

We have also sent 47 quilts

bringing our total since we started to over 6702 quilts
