This blog is dedicated to encouraging people to make quilts and laundry bags to send to Aussie service men and women currently serving overseas and to express our gratitude for their service. We care about the people - not the politics or the mission.
Our quilts are not works of art, but works of the heart.
G'day all. Well it has certainly been one very special week as most of you would know. Today brought another surprise. It is not every day that you receive a letter from the Premier of New South Wales.
To top off a great week we have just crossed over another mile stone... over 8000 laundry bags....
So far for 2016 we have sent off 185 laundry bags
which brings us to a total of 8002 since we started...
We have also sent 93 quilts
bringing our total since we started to over 5356 quilts.

Just a note about this one, made by me. This laundry bag features the Torres Strait Islander flag. I sought and received permission to reproduce the flag on our laundry bags and quilts, making a special effort to match the colours as closely as possible.
Special mention to Joan who has made 100's of laundry bags for making her first quilt with the help of Stephanie T

This special quilt will be heading off to hang in a quiet space that the chaplain will use for counselling and other purposes with the Air Task Group. It will hang on the wall of the converted container to add some colour and warmth. I could not think of a better use for one of our quilts.
